Difference between Semi Converter and Full Converter:

The difference between Semi Converter and Full Converter is given in below table

Sl no Semi Converter Full Converter
1 It uses a mixture of diodes and thyristors. Converter uses thyristors only.
2 There is a limited control over the level of dc output voltage. There is a wider control over the level of dc output voltage.
3 One quadrant converter, one polarity of dc output voltage. Two quadrant converter is one in which voltage polarity can reverse.
