Difference between Economic Dispatch and Unit Commitment:

The difference between economic dispatch and unit commitment is given in table below

forward dynamic programming methods.
2 It is required to minimize the operating cost of active power generation. It is required to Commit minmum generator units to meet the required demand.
3 The constraints are: Equality Constraints (Power generation = Power Demand) and Inequality Constraints (Pmin < P < Pmax, Qmin < Q < Qmax). The constraints are: Thermal Constraints, Hydro-Constraints and fuel Constraints.
4 It is simpler. It is complex.
